Arrival and departure is very important for the safety of our students. Many of the expectations seem to be learned by experience, and therefore have become assumed…..so please take note as we provide this “unspoken” information! Keep in mind that staff and chaperone volunteers are here to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Drop Off: Access to the side drive by band room from the back of the main high school parking lot is closed off during band camp – please drive around to the back of the school by the band room doors or cafeteria entrance to drop off/pick up. This is easily accessible via the Junior High entrance. If you choose to drop off by the band room, either park in the lot or expect to do a U-turn. Please remember to drive slowly and be cautious as there are a lot of students walking to the band room.
Pick Up: When picking up your student, many parents park along the street next to the band room entrance. Please park on one side only (side closest to the woods), as one side is marked by the school district as no parking. When cars are lined up on both sides, it makes it very difficult to drive through. Keep in mind, we have many student drivers and this is simply not the best driving situation for anyone.
We encourage parents to come early, park, and walk over to the GRID (the spray painted/marked off location on the main high school parking lot where the marching band rehearses) to watch the rehearsals. It is awesome to see the students’ progress over time. Please note that parents are not allowed on the grid at any time during rehearsals without permission from the directors.
